-� Just a few more Brothers and Sisters "season two" episodes left to watch on�DVD.��Weapos;re�both enjoying them a lot.� My family is SO�different though��Our dinners are so quiet you can hear the clock tick.� I�always liked that though...

-��Artapos;s brand-spanking new softball team is�doing great��Theyapos;re in first place (within their league)�and having a lot of fun.��There was a bit of drama between some players not long ago.� This time, it did NOT�involve Arthur, though he played an integral role in helping the team overcome it.� Iapos;m very proud of him.� :-)

-� Iapos;m staying in Alexandria, VA�Tuesday through Saturday�next week.� If anyone nearby would like to meet�for dinner or something let me know��So far only Tuesday night is booked (with co-workers, etc...)

-��We havenapos;t carved pumpkins in quite a while and so I want to carve at least ONE�this year.� We donapos;t get Halloweeners because itapos;s a gated community (with hardly any kids) but it might look cool lit up inside the house at night, etc...� I�kinda wish it FELT�more like Halloween here��Itapos;s hard to get in the spirit when the thermometer reads 90 degrees...

-� Heard a touching story on NPR this morning... A mother raised her son knowing full well that he had a type of Downapos;s Syndrome without ever telling him or anyone else--until he was a teenager.� She didnapos;t want people to treat him differently.� He has an above-average IQ, but one day he approached his mother and asked if he was "different."� Eventually she told him--itapos;s easier to accept and control certain behavior quirks when you know what causes them.� And he gained many more friends once his classmates realized he wasnapos;t just being annoying on purpose.� I think I would tell my child the truth--from as early as he can understand it.� Hearing the boyapos;s account of how he wondered sometimes if he was an alien broke my heart.� And only with the condition out in the open can teachers and fellow classmates fully integrate and understand it, etc...
