Because i seem to have stumbled upon an actual series. If i didnapos;t have to work tonight for Radio Riel, iapos;d probably be writing another installment.� The idea of Merlin as a shapeshifter has completely eaten my brain and come up with several more installments besides. Iapos;m waiting on episode 5apos;s torrent to show up so i can watch THAT�and then see if it spawns anymore plotbunnies. Or details to reference. *grin*� But that will be after i play the Formal Ball for the Marzipan Tea House in Antiquity. Then i can write while i let the desktop beast drive the main stream until tommorrow morning.
But yes, the whole series is obviously Bird of Prey, becuase the merlin falcon is definitely a small raptor.� One of the tinier of the peregrine family at that, but still. Heapos;ll spend a lot of time simply shapeshifting but the merlin (and his namesake of course) is his primary form, and the most useful. Although iapos;ve already got ideas for him to use others in different situations. Particularly as i have Albion at skirmishing with Caledonia (pre Ireland) in my head. Which means use of Irish Wolfhounds and possibly the english Bull Mastiff as well. Much less going through the training that turned up in my head for Merlinapos;s knife fighting and sneaky, nasty nearly assassin level skill with them. Plus it works with the whole metaphor. A falcon sure as hell canapos;t carry a broadsword or even a claymore or one of the long swords--but they DO�have daggers in the form of their talons.� I�really would NOT want to be on the recieving end of those if a merlin ever decided to attack me. That would hurt like hell and probably be really deep--and thatapos;s if the impact alone didnapos;t knock you out first thing. Especially if they descend from quite a height. They are very small critters, but they fly FAST�and very high. �
So yes, this fandom has inspired me to new heights and iapos;m absolutely flabbergasted. Now all i need to do is make some icons of the guys in question in all this rambling� Itapos;s letting me play with my love of swords, and mideval weaponry that iapos;ve had pretty much since childhood. I mean jeez, i did a speech in college about seige weapons once. :D�This fandom lets me play with and THEN�some, along with all the mythgeekery i have about the legends in general. It just so happens iapos;m pretty good at writing fight scenes too...*evil grin*� Something i learned how to do in the Saiyuki fandom, and particularly in my old Nii Jienyi x Kougaiji roelplay of d00m--which ate my brain for two years while i figured out THAT�art.�
